First and foremost rules and policies specified in Student Handbook are
enforced in my classroom. MEDIA AND MKTG STUDENTS SHOULD REFER TO SYLLABUS
Cellphones/earbuds
Per school policy – CELL PHONES ARE NOT CONSIDERED YOUR PERSONAL TECHNOLOGY DEVICE FOR CLASS WORK- SO I SHOULD NOT SEE THEM OUT IN CLASS UNLESS YOU ARE PERSONALLY, SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED TO USE YOUR PHONE –
I will take them if you are using them during class and place it on my desk. They, along with your technology device, are to be placed on shelves in the front of the room with other books. On occasion, we will have class activities in which I give you specific permission to use them.
THIS IS CONSIDERED YOUR FIRST WARNING!
This is a zero tolerance item - first offense will result in disciplinary consequences.
NO Late homework will be accepted after the due date. Please discuss extenuating circumstances with me at the end of class.
Participation (Spanish classes only)- Participation is earned when you speak Spanish in class. It is posted to your grade online monthly. The more you speak in Spanish the more points you earn.
The number of points will be determined by the class average for each
period. For example, if Billy has spoken 20 times, but the class average is 15 – Billy will receive some extra credit. If Susie only speaks 7 times her grade will be 7/15.
IT IS IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO ATTEMPT TO SPEAK SPANISH IN CLASS.
Binders: Your binder is a class requirement, it is to be brought to class, used and organized daily. You will receive one binder grade per quarter equal to a test grade. BINDER GRADE DAYS WILL NOT BE ANNOUNCED. Do as I ask and you will receive some easy points!
Make-up work:
Make up work is YOUR responsibility. Assignments are left in the missed work folders or on "EXTRAS TRAY" in the front of the room. All homework assignments are posted in the front of the classroom on the white board, on Canvas or REMIND AND/or on my twitter page- for Spanish classes.
You DO NOT have to have a twitter account to access this page. If you do have a twitter account – you can follow me – I DO NOT follow anyone. This page is for announcements and homework assignments only. You should make every attempt to get your assignments from friends, the front of the room or the twitter page. Asking me “What did I miss anything yesterday” should be an absolute last resort!
Extra-credit: You may earn extra credit (just as you earn raises in the real world) by going above and beyond on assignments and projects for me.
I do not offer random extracredit assignments ever.
Restroom/Drinks: If you need to go – do so at the beginning of class. I will not interrupt class to write passes nor should you ask DURING class unless it is an emergency.
Taking a Book home: You are welcome to do this whenever,
but you should not need to very often. These must be signed out on the sheet
posted by the white homework poster in class. They must be returned DIRECTLY TO ME - in my hands- during class the next day and you need to see me sign it back in.
STUDENTS SHOULD BRING QUESTIONS OR ISSUES TO ME FIRST, learning to solve issues/problems is part of growing up and this class give you good opportunities to practice.
THEN, for some reason you do not feel we resolved the issue your PARENTS SHOULD FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME..
